Going away party @Raven's with my best friends

Arches National Park

Canyonlands

Vail

9-16 (Thurs)

We left Yellowstone Sat (9-11) Didn't get out of the park until noon. Spent the first night in Ogden, UT, the next two nights in Moab, UT. We went to Arches National Park twice and also Canyonlands. It was really hot but we still managed to do several hikes. In Grand Junction, CO I got a speeding ticket ($170) for going 40 something in a construction zone. Bummer. Tues. night was Glenwood, CO (wonderful.) This was about 40 miles from Aspen. Wed. we stopped in Vail and shopped. Wed night in Great Lake, CO. We are averaging about 250 miles per day but we aren't in any hurry. We went to Rocky Mt. National Park this morning. It was so cold and the wind was blowing so hard we could hardly open the car door to get out. We drove on to Estes Park for lunch, shopping and just looking around. Tonight we are near the Kansas border but still in CO. Tomorrow we will drive to Selina, KS and then go south to I-40 which we will take across the US.

9-6 (Mon)

I went to Chico's last night with a friend to celebrate our hike across Mt. Everst. When I got home Nancy said it snowed like crazy at Mammoth. She said it was like a blizzard. By the time we got home there wasn't even anything on the ground.
When we went to breakfast this morning the mountains were covered with snow and there was ice on the cars. It was all soooooo beautiful but it didn't last.
Tonight the rut started. There was a big bull elk chasing all the females around an island beside our dorm. He was bulging and running after the girls.
