Friday we wanted to drive across the Bear Tooth Mountain to Red Lodge (Fri was the opening day.) At the base of the mountain we came to a big blinking sign that said, “Road Closed” so we kept going. We came to a couple more signs that said it was closed but we continued on. About 15 miles later we saw another sign that said, “Do Not Enter” we were getting ready to turn back when we saw a worker. He jumped out of his car and turned the “Do Not Enter” sign around. We asked him if the road was open and he said, “yes.” We continued on to Red Lodge. As we were going over the mountain the snow was 20-25 feet high on some parts of the road. We saw cross country skiers and a skier with a parachute (like a para-glider skier.) We came home over the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway. Another fun day.
