We signed up to get off work early on Wed. We were dismissed at 1:30 and headed to Bozeman. ND bought a new camera and I bought an new lens. We ate at Ted Turner's restaurant. The afternoon was wonderful but driving back to Mammoth was scary. We had to go really slow because there were so many animals by the side of the road. They can jump out in front of you and wreck your car in the blink of an eye.

On the way to Bozeman we saw big horn sheep and today on our way to Bozeman and Philipsburg (where we're spending the night) we saw cowboys (rangers) herding the bison back to YS.

Philipsburg is a darling little town. We're staying in the Broadway Hotel and we are the only ones here. I mean the only ones. The owners left a key on the back door for us with a note to make ourselves at home.

We hiked to the terraces at Mammoth at the beginning of the week . . . some of the things we saw.
