3-27 (Sun)
Nancy looked out the window this morning and announced that it was snowing like crazy and that the roads were totally covered with snow. She wasn’t kidding. There was so much snow on our car that we could hardly find the door handles. She cleaned it off but it was back as soon as she cleaned one area.
We were so lucky we left Jackson Hole last night. We never would have made it over the pass today.
As we drove toward Bozeman the snow was blowing across the road and sometimes it was hard to see the front of the car. The drive was beautiful but it was hard driving with the wind and blowing snow. Nancy drove all the way to West Yellowstone. We found one cafe open and had lunch. We stopped at a gas station to go to the bathroom. I bought a drink, and thinking Nancy was standing behind me (I didn’t even look) but handed her a dollar that I owed her. Well, it wasn’t Nancy, it was some man standing behind me. He just died laughing and said he loved it that I was trying to give him money.
About 75 miles from Bozeman it quit snowing and was as clear as could be. It was only about 210 miles from Victor, ID where we were staying but most of the time we couldn’t go over 40 mph because of the snow.
